                              GREEN IT

Green IT (green information technology) is the practice of environmentally sustainable computing. Green IT practices include reducing the use of hazardous materials, maximizing energy efficiency during the product's lifetime and promoting the biodegradability of unused and outdated products.

CTI Global offers products containing recovered materials and bio-based content assisting purchasers who use Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (“EPEAT”). We administer the technology to reach out and measure, monitor and manage energy use for all manner of IT equipment. We bring energy awareness to routers and switches, office IT equipment and building systems. We remotely run all energy management tasks across existing device networking platforms. No client-side software is used. Data center energy efficiency can be improved by utilizing combined heat and power systems. Heat recovered from electricity generation in the form of steam or hot water can be used by an on-site chiller to cool the data center.

Environmental issues are a common part of most IT strategies, as awareness of carbon footprints and the levels of energy use associated with technology have become widespread. Green IT aims to use computers and IT resources in a more efficient and environmentally responsible way.

CTI Global Technical Approach:

            REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Purchase Energy Star certified computer servers. On average, Energy Star certified computer servers are 30% more energy efficient than standard servers.

Purchase thin-client computers using a web browser and/or a remote desktop virtualization software. Thin-client computers use up to about half the energy of a standard desktop loaded with its own dedicated applications. The applications can instead be accessed on demand from a remote server from any location via the cloud.

Implement virtualization and cloud computing systems. The number of internal servers used can be reduced and application management can be outsourced to a cloud. CTI Global software-as-a-service (SaaS) pay-as-you go model allows organizations to choose only the specific applications they need at any given time, instead of having to pay for an entire suite of software on their premises. Not only do your organization save money, you also save on IT staff cost because upgrade and maintenance responsibilities will be shouldered by us. CTI Global dedicated hosting services via the cloud is committed to upgrading our infrastructure to use solar, hydro and wind power, as part of our energy supply from our grid.

               SCALABLE COMPUTING

Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) via the cloud offers scalable computing power to your organization without requiring hardware services in-house. With IaaS, CTI Global supply the infrastructure as needed to support your organization running your own applications. By converting infrastructure to a periodic and predictable cost, your organization can avoid unexpected repairs and upgrades while being assured of maximum uptime.

IaaS provides the scaling of processing power, so that users are never caught in the position of overload, while avoiding the costs of under-utilized capacity. Like SaaS, the cost of IT staffing is reduced through reduced internal maintenance and upgrade and support costs.
